About MSEAA

Ma Shijun Ecology Achievement Award (MSEAA) was established in 2006 by Ecological Society of China (ESC). MSEAA is the highest academic award given by ESC, which is to honor ecological scientists who have made substantial contribution to science and technology of ecology. Its aim is to promote national ecology science and technology progress/innovation, drive conciliation between theory and practice, and raise its social impact.

Qualified Candidates

1.  Should be Chinese nationality with over ten years’ research experience in the field of fundamental or applied ecology.

2. Should have made outstanding achievements in developing fundamental theories of ecology or applied ecological theories to solve fundamental scientific or major eco-environmental issues in national economy development. All researches must have been completed in China.

Awarding Cycle

MSEAA is a biennial award with no more than two awardees each time except otherwise decided by Director Generals meeting.

Selection Process

Application of MSEAA is through recommendation. For details, please refer to “Selection for Ma Shijun Ecology Achievement Award”.

Publicity & Announcement

Winner(s) of MSEAA will be selected by the Standing Committee of ESC. The winner(s) will be announced at the year’s Chinese Ecology Congress and presented with a certificate and a prize.
