Global change and biological invasion are not only important scientific issues, but also major environmental and economic issues affecting the world in the 21st century and even the stability and security of all countries, thus drawing extensive attention by the scientific communities, governments and international NGOs. Global change and biological invasion are changing the species composition, structure and function of ecosystems, seriously threatening the global biodiversity security and human living environment. Global change and biological invasion have a complex interaction relationship. Biological invasion is not only an integral part of global change, but also an important driving factor of global change, affected by the increase in atmospheric CO2 concentration, climate warming and nitrogen deposition, etc. Related research has become a hot spot in current ecological research.
This conference is jointly sponsored by the Biological Invasion Professional Committee of the Ecological Society of China and Jiangsu University, aiming to strengthen academic exchanges and cooperation among relevant researchers. Affected by COVID-19, the combined form of online and offline conferences is adopted, and the participants abroad may take part in the online conference.
1. Conference theme and component
Mainly including but not limited to the following topics:
1. Biological invasion: mechanism, hazard, risk assessment, monitoring, prevention and control, and utilization of alien biological invasion.
2. Global change and biological invasion: patterns, mechanisms and ecological effects.
3. Interaction between invasive organisms and local ecosystem: mechanisms, consequences and regulation.
The conference will include 2 plenary sessions, 2 online parallel sessions and 5 offline parallel sessions.
2. Time and place
Time: November 16-19, 2020 (PM check-in on November 16, check-out on November 19)
Location: Zhenjiang Mingdu Hotel (No. 470, Dingmaojing 12 Road, Zhenjiang City, Jiangsu Province, China)
3. Solicitation of papers
The conference calls for paper abstracts and reports related to the topics and scope of the conference from experts, scholars and graduate students engaged in the study on global change and biological invasion. Please refer to the conference website (http://gcbi2020.com/) for submission instruction. Deadline for submission is October 16, 2020.
The conference intends to collect full-text papers. Excellent papers will be recommended to the SCI “Journal of Plant Ecology” for review and published collectively in a special issue.
4. Conference sections and language
This conference includes the following sections: main event conference report, keynote report, general report, postgraduate report, young scholars forum and poster exhibition. The working language of the conference is English.

6. Conference fee
1. Please refer to the conference website (http://www.gcbi2020.com/) for registration and payment.
Conference payment: Pre October 1, 2020: the registration fee for each participant is RMB1,300 yuan, and the standard for student registration is RMB900 yuan; after October 1, 2020: the registration fee for each participant is RMB1,600 yuan, and the standard for student registration is RMB1,200 yuan.
2. No pick-ups or drop-offs will be arranged for this conference. Subject to uniform arrangement, transportation and hotel expenses will be paid by individual participants. The conference team will reserve sufficient rooms in Zhenjiang Mingdu Hotel, and all participants are free to confirm their individual reservation. Please refer to the conference website (http://www.gcbi2020.com/) for detailed instruction. Deadline for hotel reservation is November 13, 2020. The hotel will allocate rooms in order of reservation.
